Permaculture and Birth

Agriculturalists David Holmgren and Bill Mollison, put two words together, Permanent and Culture and suddenly a movement was born.
The three main principles of Permaculture align perfectly with natural birth practices.
1. Care for the Earth – our beloved first womb
2. Care for People – our family and
3. Care for the Future – Sustainability, this happens when we get the first two principles right.

Permaculture works with nature, not against it. The same is true for natural birth. There’s no waste or use of nonrenewable resources. With
a homebirth that is more likely. No use of dubious chemicals. Drugs are not typically used at a homebirth.
Our first home and primary provider is Earth and a mother’s womb reflects the atmosphere of this home. Cherishing the Earth protects our
mother’s wombs, our baby’s births and our children’s futures. Mother Nature will sustain us as long as we respect her.
